KISS, COOPER, CRUE’S NEIL INKED FOR BENEFIT CONCERT

A host of would-be future rock stars will have an opportunity to learn from an impressive list of longtime rock legends at tomorrow night’s fundraising concert to benefit the Brennan Rock & Roll Academy for kids taking place at the Orleans Arena I Las Vegas. The group of all-stars inked to perform includes Kiss, Alice Cooper, Motley Crue frontman Vince Neil, Twisted Sister singer Dee Snider, Ratt vocalist Stephen Pearcy, Tom Keifer of Cinderella and others.

ROLLING STONES AUSTRALIA, NEW ZEALAND GIGS NOW NUMBER SEVEN

The Rolling Stones have officially added six more shows to their 2014 Australia and New Zealand run of dates, according to an itinerary posted on the group’s mobile app Tuesday morning. The run will now get underway March 19 in Perth, followed by shows in Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne, Macedon and Brisbane, Australia, and the tour closer April 5 in Auckland, New Zealand.

Long hailed as one of the top touring bands on the planet, veteran blues rockers Foghat will once again prove they are worthy of the accolade with the December 10 release of the concert DVD Live In St. Pete. The collection includes blistering concert versions of Foghat fan favorites including “Drivin’ Wheel,” “Slow Ride,” “I Just Want To Make Love to You,” “Stone Blue,” “Fool for the City” and “My Babe.”

JOEL SAYS HE’LL PLAY MADISON SQUARE GARDEN ONCE A MONTH FOR…

Native New Yorker Billy Joel held a press conference Tuesday to announce he will perform at the city’s historic Madison Square Garden once a month starting January 27 and continuing “for as long as there’s demand.” So far, Joel is locked into playing the venue on February 3, March 21, April 18 and May 9. Joel said, “Playing Madison Square Garden is an experience that never gets old.”

BEATLES CLASSICS REINTERPRETED BY INDIE ROCKERS

A host of hand-picked indie rockers have put their spin on Beatles signature singles for the charity compilation Beatles Reimagined, available now on the Community Projects label. One hundred percent of the net album sales will be donated to the Rock n’ Roll Camp for Girls Los Angeles. The 10-song Beatles Reimagined includes fresh takes on Fab Four favorites including “All My Loving,” “I Saw Her Standing There,” “From Me to You,” “I Wanna Be Your Man,” I Feel Fine,” “Misery,” “She Loves You” and “Please Please Me.”

DONOVAN PICKED TO HEADLINE 2014 FEST FOR BEATLES FANS

Legendary folk rocker Donovan has been tapped to headline the 2014 Fest for Beatles Fans, scheduled to take place February 7-9 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in New York City. Billed as “the world’s longest running Beatles Celebration,” this year’s event will correspond exactly with the 50th anniversary of the Fab Four’s historic first visit to America and performance on The Ed Sullivan Show.



STARR JOINS STEWART ON SEGMENT OF ONLINE SERIES THE RINGMASTER Two musical heavyweights, former Beatles drummer Ringo Starr and ex-Eurythmics member Dave Stewart, will sit side-by-side for a segment of Stewart and BiteSizeTV’s one-hour, bi-weekly music variety show, The Ringmaster, airing tonight on Bitesizetv.com. Aside from his work with Annie Lennox in the Eurythmics, the Grammy Award-winning Stewart is known for producing albums and co-writing songs for myriad superstar acts including U2 frontman Bono, Rolling Stones singer Mick Jagger, Tom Petty and scores more.

COLLINS COY ON POSSIBLE COMEBACK

Reclusive rocker Phil Collins recently cracked the door open just slightly on a possible Genesis reunion, saying at the premiere of the Tarzan musical in Stuttgart, Germany, “I have started thinking about doing new stud.” He went on to add, “[Maybe playing] some shows again, even with Genesis. Everything is possible. We could tour in Australia and South America. We haven’t been there yet.” Collins’ last solo studio album was 2002’s Testify.

METALLICA TOUTS TRIO OF NEW 2014 EUROPEAN CONCERT DATES

Having recently announced three 2014 shows in Germany, Metallica Monday confirmed three more European performances. In addition to the previously announced June shows in Hamburg, Nurburgring and Nuremberg, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band will perform a June 9 gig in Landgraaf, Netherlands, a July 3 concert in Werchter, Belgium and a July 6 show in Knebworth, England. As with the three German shows, the band is asking fans to help select the set lists for the trio of new gigs as well. In more Metallica news, the band announced they are shelving their 2014 Orion Music + More festival because it would conflict with their European tour.
