JUDAS PRIEST CONFIRMS NEW ALBUM WILL ARRIVE IN NEW YEAR

Proving even heavy metal heroes enjoy the holiday season, Judas Priest wished their fans a Merry Christmas in a message posted on the group’s official website. But as nice as the holiday well wishes were, the best part about the note for fans was the part where they confirmed they plan to release a new studio album in the New Year. The band’s Christmas message reads as follows: “We wish all of our fans a great Christmas and a very metal New Year! We will be releasing a new album sometime in 2014 so stay tuned…..!!”

NEIL INVITES LITTLE GIRLS TO SING “GIRLS, GIRLS, GIRLS”

Straddling the line between cute and creepy, Motley Crue frontman Vince Neil invited two very little girls onstage during a recent solo show to help him sing the Crue’s longtime stripper anthem “Girls, Girls, Girls.” Fan footage captured Neil coaxing his pint-sized guests to join in on the memorable chorus line while he handled the racy verses about girls taking their clothes off at some of the most famous “gentleman’s clubs” on the planet – not necessarily wholesome family fun.

TV REPORTER RECONNECTS SANTANA WITH HOMELESS EX-BANDMATE

A local San Francisco television reporter played the role of archangel when he orchestrated a reunion between Rock and Roll Hall of Fame guitarist Carlos Santana and his homeless former Santana Blues Band bandmate Marcus Malone. Video of the emotional reunion between Santana and the former percussionist on a street in Oakland, CA has spread on social media. During the visit, Malone, whom Santana several times called “Marcus “The Magnificent” Malone, told his former bandmate, “You don’t know how afraid I am to let you see me.” Santana put his old friend at ease by replying, “It’s an honor to be in your presence. You and your family were always so gracious to us.”

HARRISON REPORTEDLY REJECTED ROYAL HONOR PRIOR TO DEATH

Britain’s Daily Mail reports George Harrison thwarted the royal family’s plan to present him with the distinguished OBE (Officer of the Order of the British Empire) award because he felt insulted that he wasn’t being awarded the even higher honor of knighthood that former Beatle bandmate Paul McCartney was given in 1997. According to the newspaper, Harrison was to be recognized for being “a member of a band that many people would say is the best thing that Britain has ever produced, and possibly the best in the world, the Beatles.” However, for Harrison, being awarded the less prestigious OBE was actually an insult.

JOEL JOINS ABC’S NEW YEAR’S ROCKIN’ EVE BROADCAST

A portion of piano man Billy Joel’s New Year’s Eve concert at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn will be shown just after midnight on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve, airing on ABC. Producers of the show announced they will cutaway to Joel onstage in Brooklyn at around 12:05a. Earlier this month, Joel announced he will begin an open-ended residency at Madison Square Garden in New York City, starting on January 27. He plans to perform one show a month at the venue “for as long as there’s demand.”

POP POSTS PECULIAR VIDEO HOLIDAY GREETING

As a man whose give a you know what factor has always been pretty low, Iggy Pop has always marched to a different drummer – or in the case of his videotaped Christmas greeting – little drummer boy. Earlier in the week, Pop, who is in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of the Stooges, posted an odd 21-second “Merry Christmas Message” in which he is seen lounging in a hot tub, kicking back on a couch with several small dogs and lying poolside from where he delivers a mysteriously mundane “Merry Christmas.” Proving even heavy metal heroes enjoy the holiday season, Judas Priest wished their fans a Merry Christmas in a message posted on the group’s official website. But as nice as the holiday well wishes were, the best part about the note for fans was the part where they confirmed they plan to release a new studio album in the New Year. The band’s Christmas message reads as follows: “We wish all of our fans a great Christmas and a very metal New Year! We will be releasing a new album sometime in 2014 so stay tuned…..!!” <
