How do you know if you are in a good mutual fund? Financial Planners often use an analysis tool like Morningstar to determine if a mutual fund makes the cut for their clients to use. You can look at performance history, holdings, segments of the market it is invested in and risk levels. The most telling piece however, is comparisons to other funds in its “Peer Group” (other funds that invest similarly). Peer Group ranking allows you to see if you are in something above or below average. A little research can shed a lot of light!
